“I highly enjoyed Mockingjay and thought it was significant that Katniss kept an inventory of her belongings at different points in the novel. They include: the hunting jacket, the family plant book (turned to the page for the katniss plant, illustrated by Peeta), her parents’ wedding picture, a silver parachute, the locket with pictures of Gale, Prim and Mrs. Everdeen, the Mockingjay pin, the spile and the pearl. All these souvenirs are great symbols for the series and what’s great is that they all mean something to Katniss and help her get through an extremely dark time.”
